3D Reconstruction – Missanello




PIPEIN together with DG Impianti Industriali S.p.A. successfully completed a digitalization project for Acquedotto Pugliese’s aqueduct infrastructure in Missanello, as part of the Basilicata Open Lab initiative.
Utilizing PIPEIN’s DDS3 robot equipped with a 3D LiDAR sensor, detailed internal inspections were conducted, generating high-resolution point cloud data of the pipeline interiors. Simultaneously, DG Impianti deployed drones for external photogrammetry mapping, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the infrastructure.
The combination of these techniques resulted in a detailed 3D reconstruction of the inspected pipe proving the potential to support improved water resource management, offering valuable insights for more efficient operations.
This project demonstrated the versatility of PIPEIN’s robotic solutions and highlighted the company’s capability to tackle complex infrastructure challenges.
